Tradition

Once a year; usually around summer or Christmas break. I think we’ve been slacking, though, because a lot of my little siblings don’t remember seeing it before. This must be remedied.

23. Scarf

My elusive circle scarves that took forever to come in the mail!

24. Favourite Part of Christmas Eve

I actually wasn’t awake until it was nearly noon. But this was prior to opening gifts and playing white elephant. 2pm is morning…ish? Right? : P

My Last Night on Earth

It’s 11:04.

A lot of people are freaked out that the world is going to end in an hour. Is it in an hour? Do they think that in an hour the world will just poof away? Or are we supposed to be preparing for an apocalypse? I should have done more research on this assumption.

Instead, I was just thinking about my lasts. If this was my last night on earth, would I be okay with that?

Let’s see. The last full length movie I saw was The Bourne Legacy.

Last thing I read: John 14. Well, Dad read. I listened. That happens to be one of my favourite chapters in the entire Bible. : )

Last meal: A huge plate of warmed stuffing, a Panera cinnamon chip scone, and hot chocolate.

Last thing I wrote: About seven Christmas cards, and some Elephant Princess fan fiction.

Last song I listened to: One More TimeBoys Over Flowers Soundtrack (Tree Bicycles)

Last person I talked to: My flippin’ awesome sister Lydia who I keep talking to like she’s 15 or 16 and then cracking up when she reminds me she’s only 12. Like when I said, “This is why weren’t not married,” and she goes, “Uh, I’m only twelve.” : D Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Last text received: Mum, trying to steal said sister for drama watchings when I stole her first for Elephant Princess watchings! Bwahahah!!

Regrets? Well, I haven’t seen The Hobbit yet, and I would have liked to finish that fan fiction. And mine best friend has a present for me that was to be revealed during Christmas Sleepover. But all in all, I’d be ready to enter the pearly gates. Since, remarkably, Jesus will still have me. : )

Goodnight! I’m… fairly confident I’ll speak to you all again soon!

Panera Noodle

[On my lunch break at Panera.]
Asian Man: *stands right over me* I need to make a complaint.
Me: *slurping noodles*  o.o
Asian Man: Why are you eating noodle when you are here?
Me: They’re so delicious!
Asian Man: *laughing* You should not be eating noodle here. Iiii should be eating noodle! You’re not Asian, right?
Me: You could tell by the way I’m using these chopsticks, huh?

Best customer experience I’ve had at Panera… probably ever. :P

Busy Not Blogging

A picture post to show why I’ve been so absent in the blogging sphere.

The end.

No, no. I tease. But that’s how I’ve felt this month. Everyone at work is taking their summer vacations, so I’ve been doing 30-35 hour work weeks, coming home to redo my bedroom, and doing wonderful (but exhausting) things with grandparents and coworkers the time I have off. I say time, not days, because again, I do a lot right after I get off work.

The 9th, I got my hair trimmed, and so did my sister. We gave her bangs. (She doesn’t have bangs yet in this one.)

Friday the 13th, my grandparents took Ej and me to our state fair. I wore heels the whole time as part of a new challenge I gave myself. Any day I’m not working and have to leave the house for whatever reason, I must wear heels. The girls in Korean dramas wear heels for everything, and I aspire to be that awesome.

I am the happiest person alive when I have a corndog.

The day after the fair, I worked. And then turned traitor by trying a pesto and cheese sammich not of Panera making…

Then I fell asleep. I’m rather good at catching up on sleep in odd places, contorting myself to fit where I need to.

I have worked on my room a total of six days, a few hours at a time when I get off work. I had to take down (by that I mean unscrew, rip apart, and basically destroy) a giant desk, move everything out of the way to fit a giant futon bed in, paint one section of wall at a time, let that dry, move all my belongings to the newly dry wall, paint the next section, and so on and so forth. Oh, and each section requires two coats of paint. So that’s been.. exhausting. But still fun, and I know it’ll be worthwhile when I can put all my Victorian things around the room. :)

Since I can’t afford a smiley vampire shirt right now, I compromised and got a toothy cloud tee for painting.

This Friday, the 20th, I took a break from my room to dress a little nicer and go to dinner at The Elephant Bar–Grandpa’s treat. Guess where we went after that?

Here’s a big hint…

AAAGFAGAODIGHODHGIURHOEFASAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D It was kind of amazing. Also, I fell in love with THIS MAN and if you look at those pictures, *coughs*dressed like a 19th century man*coughs* you’ll see why. :) Aaaaand his voice!! It was better than the Prince Eric on CD. Ursula was, too, although sadly, Ariel was not up to par. But that didn’t matter! I was there for the Prince, darnit!!! :D :D :D :D Kiss The Girl was intense because they kept coming THIS close and just…no, and then the costumes were spectacular… I just… gush, gush, gush. The one complaint I have was that weird crush Flounder had on Ariel. I know in the Broadway, he’s a little boy, and it’s adorable and I was expecting that. Instead, he was played by someone more teenagerish and he kept talking about how in love he was with her. Yeeeaah.

You can have this, to enjoy, though. It’s pretty much the whole reason I wanted to go see it. :P

As of today, my door frame is done in a “Romantic Smoke” colour; a darker rose in comparison to the lighter “Embroidery Rose” on the door. I have a pink door. :D Teeheehee!

So far, ’tis been a productive month. :)

Windsor Castle and a Very Scrummy Lunch

Avoiding emails is bad. I stopped checking them consistently because there were too many to deal with, but you know what? Ignoring them just makes them increase! Who knew? :P (Answer: Anyone with common sense–not me.) Finally got them under 200 again! Woo! Small victory.

But that’s not what you’re here for.

Guess what??

ENGLAND PICTURE POST!!!

Now that I have your attention…

That is my suitcase. Captain Ricardo, usually just “Reecarrrrdoh!” with a Spanish accent. I packed it very full and each time I had to open it, a clothing explosion occurred. My toast tag made it almost definite that no one would mistakenly steal my suitcase, and pig rabbit sealed the deal. Piggy bunny came to England with me! *girly giggles*

And guess what? I like airplane food. More than that, I love it! I don’t have to cook, a British man named “Scott” in a shiny purple vest brings it to me, it’s hot, it’s comforting… what’s not to love? I must clarify; the salad wasn’t hot. It was fresh and cool and lovely. :)

Our first peek at England outside the airport–this trip. We have seen Heathrow/London before, but it was not as extensive.

An English lane. A real. English. lane.

In Windsor, before we did any major sightseeing, it was time to fill our tummies. Bella Italia did the trick. Yes, our first meal in England was Italian food. But look at those pizza dough bread batons and garlic dipping sauce! Who’s complaining?? Certainly not our ten-hour-flight-veteran selves!

Windsor Castle! And I’m sure some of those people are native Brits. ;)

St. George’s Gate, of St. George and the Dragon! We have this incredible picture book of this story. Or we did… I hope we do! It’s one of my favourites because Una is coloured with this gorgeous, wispy dress of white and silver.

An arrow slat, for inflicting violence upon opposing forces! I love a good arrow slat. :D They make a castle so much more… castley!

Windsor Castle never had a real moat. They called it a “dry moat” because it had no water, and at some point a garden was put in there. It’s a beautiful garden; it really is. But it’s not a moat. Not even a little bit.

I took some “postcard pictures” that day.

Ooooh guardy guard, ooooh guardy guard! How you embody England! Oh guardy guard, oh guardy guard! How you embody England! Your coat is reeeeed, your hat is big… I’m too tired to make the song rhyme.

Our Starbucks are DEPRIVED!! Look at this goodness! Marshmallow twizzles!! WHERE ARE MY MARSHMALLOW TWIZZLES, HUH!? I have to go to England for them! And if you’re curious, these are exactly what they look like. Marshmallows on a stick, covered in chocolate and chocolate stars. Pure. Sugar. Goodness.

The best thing about England is that no matter where you go, it’s assumed you’ll require tea. And we required tea. Lots of it. So each hotel has a tea service readied for your arrival! I love England. Love it.

What having money looks like in England.

JUST to prove I was there. I’m breaking the “never wear sunglasses in a picture” rule. *is ashamed* And that blustery day did a number on my hair. England did many strange things to my hair. It still hasn’t recovered.
