Friday Night YouTube

It’s been a long time since I busted one of these out! But I’ve been finding a lot of cool stupid random ridiculous stuff on YouTube lately, and figured… since I haven’t been keeping you updated on work issues and writing, I should at least show you what I do in my lazy time.

So that Kpop thing… still a thing. :) More of a thing than before, even.

Cooking? Cooking!Super Junior

I. love this song. There’s something about the dance with the hand motions and the catchy lyrics. And it’s like, the cutest thing. :P My sister and I tried to learn the dance, but it’s more complicated than it looks! So we just… run around doing the hand things, singing, “jfsoafnsfd… GUNGOYO!! osifjaodfadf… MADAJOH!”

Yoo HooSecret

This song is everything that made me fall in love with Korean music. Girly, energetic, a little bit childish, overdose of cute, lots of drawing hearts in the air… if I ever learn a whole dance routine, it’s going to be for a Korean girl’s group song. Then I’ll sing it at work. I’ve already made several employee’s nights by dancing and singing to The Three Bears!

I guess I should show you that, too…

The Three Bears Song – As sung/danced by Song Hye Kyo in the Korean drama: Full House

What Was It That Made Me Meet Someone Like YouBai An

This isn’t even Korean, but Mandarin. It’s just so… engrossing! The language is so different from any other sound I’ve ever heard; different from Japanese, Korean, and certainly all the Latin based languages. The lovely An has such a gorgeous voice, and I can’t stop listening to it!

Not Right Now, Derrick

This is one of those videos that requires a special brand of humour. The Napoleon Dynamite brand. Where it may not be funny the first time you watch it (or at all) but then your brothers start quoting it at very inappropriate intervals, and it makes it hilarious. Then you take it to your job and it’s even funnier!
Employee: Hey, Bethany, can you…
Me: NOT RIGHT NOW, DERIIIIICK!!!

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

I love Jane Austen. I love spin offs of Jane Austen’s stories. And apparently, I love finding things that are impossible to tear myself away from. There are so many quotable one-liners from this adaptation! It is hysterical, awkward, charming… everything Pride and Prejudice is, except put into a modern setting and told exclusively from Elizabeth Bennet’s point of view. I’m in love. It’s also super creative how they made Tumblr and Pinterest and Twitter accounts for all their characters and updated them as the vlog was progressing. It was so interactive and… just… you have to watch them. :)

And I know if I start to watch these again, I will never go to bed. So I’d better head off to finish my writing… TELL ME NOT TO CLICK THE LINK!!! TELL ME….!!!

Kdramas! …or why you haven’t heard from me.

Yes, I know, it’s been a while. Although no one’s contacted me through comments to beg for my return to the blogging sphere, I could sense your hearts crying out in pain as you missed me so severely.

It’s my manager’s fault for showing me Hulu’s collection of Korean dramas.

So, my lovelies! An update you shall have! An update meshed with my Friday YouTube clips because I haven’t done those in a while and it’s traditional for my generation to share video clips on a Friday night. (How many grammar nuts did I just offend with those last three “sentences?” I apologize.)

Before we get to the “me” stuff, though, I want to give my thanks to Mara-lovely-Mara (I did say that like it was one word.) for her makeup tutorial that inspired me to buy gold eye shadow!

I used the glowing look for the wedding I went to, and have been loving it and using it ever since. It’s a great, easy fix-up for work, too!

I meant to post some pictures from the wedding, but my wonderful friend likes to catch me in the most awkward expressions (she calls these “Freakish Beth pictures”) and the makeup wasn’t very prominent in any of them.

Here’s one anyway; my personal favourite she took that night…

A prime example of "Freakish Beth"

I know you can tell nothing of my makeup products from that picture, but I assure you that without them, Freakish Beth would have been far more hideous.

By the way, Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm is crazy expensive, but well worth it. I splurged on some “Pink Blossom” colour for myself, and it’s deliciou… I mean, very pretty! I love how light it is, so you get a not-too-far-from-your-natural-lips tint.

Friday Night YouTube

For this scene alone, You’re Beautiful/Minami Shineyo will forever be treasured in my heart. “Bi Bi noodles!!”

Wow. I took a little (forty minute) break to watch a bunch of behind-the-scenes. There were no subtitles, but the adorableness translates without the English. :D

And no, you won’t understand how great this song is until you’ve watched that drama and cried during the recording scene. Or at least teared up. Or… felt something… flutter… in your chest?

Since I’m all about Koreans tonight. xD

I can’t quite express why, but I find this one of the cutest things ever. (For context, he’s talking to his dog, Jolie. And she’s named after Angelina Jolie. Which somehow makes it cuter!! xP)

Okay. Now I should go do something more useful. Like… laundry. Or… or not.

Friday YouTube and waaait for iiiiit…

On Sunday something happened to me that’s kind of a big deal. I don’t want to spoil the fun now because I won’t have a picture to demonstrate the full ensemble of this… thing until tomorrow sometime, so hang in there.

I’d have you all guess but I’m thinking those of you who know me in a face-to-face way probably know already, and the rest of you probably wouldn’t know even if I gave clues because it pertains to something work-related and specific.

Now that I’ve taunted you with a surprise, here’s what I’ve been up to in between my 36 hour work week!

-x-

My best friend has taken away all hope of productivity when I’m not on the clock by introducing me to Parks and Recreation. To give credit where credit is due, our friend Anne introduced her to the show, or at least got her to finally watch it. So yes. We’re both hooked. I’ve watched about as many hours of that show as I’ve worked this week. Maybe not quite. But a lot.

This makes me laugh every time. The Tom Face! He looks like a muppet! I want this face on my phone. To make me grin. All the time.

This is sort of awesome and funny at the same time because I have a manager named Matt who’s danced competitively. I mean, immediately when I saw a guy dancing in a video I thought of Matt. And that’s his name, so it’s all connected. Except my manager says, “I dance way better than him.” I’m sure it’s true. I’ve seen his Back of the House spin. :P

Because I couldn’t leave you without another cheesy cartoon opening. I never saw so much as an episode of this. Even I have my limits.

I CAN’T WAIT FOR PSYCH TO COME BACK!!! AAAAHHH!!

I’ll leave you with this…

WHERE’S MY SANDWICH!?!?!
An exposé on my deep inner feelings towards my food.

I’m Not Crying
An emotional journey by Flight of the Conchords.

Firing Squad
“If you dare!”

Movie Pitching Guy
I have a feeling this is how most movies get made.

Never Song
An educational one for the kids!

H.R. Pufnstuf Introduction
This scares the crap out of me, but I’m cruelly mesmerized by it. Not for the faint of heart. It may look like an innocence children’s… puppet show of sorts, but it’s frightening! It’s like… whyyy did this exist? Ever? And why am I watching it now!?

Dr. Who is Casually Awesome
I have now reached the “Tennant Season” of Dr. Who. I love him, but Eccleston will be missed. *moment of silence* Anyway! This had me in stitches! Unfortunately, that’s another woman in Rose’s body, but it’s the Doctor’s comeback that kills me.

I’m also still watching that Korean drama Summer Scent (Episode 17 and the girl finally put two and two together!) but I won’t torture you with clips.

Friday Night YouTube

I’m even slipping behind on the easy posts that take little effort except to copy and paste the link of stuff I’m watching!

I’m an insufferably lazy woman and I apologize.

I’m really excited to share this video with you! It’s performances like this–quirky, colorful, and madly talented–that made me start Friday Night YouTube. Or was it the cat video? :P I can’t remember.

Spontaneous Me – Lindsey Stirling

I want to be her. *sigh* Why don’t I have a talent like that?

Piano Guys

These are utterly amazing. Watching all these musically gifted people always makes me sad. Because I have zero musical talent.

I could watch these on loop, just to stare at the guy’s hands flying across the keys like that. Oh whoops. Forgot to close my mouth. Now I need a drink!

This one I’m challenging Best Friend to learn. :D He has to do it with the robes and everything.

And in keeping up with that theme, I absolutely had to share this…

The Cutest Scene Almost Ever

The Interview

Okay, so it’s a bit… crude. And creepy. But this video helped me calm my nerves for each of my job interviews. I just imagined the questions would be like this and the real questions ended up being super easy after that. :P

Jane Eyre – Timothy Dalton

Diaaaalo000guuuueeee!!!! Well-delivered, character developing, period-dramaesque diiiiaaaal0ogueeeee*drooooooooooooooooooooooolls* <3 Sorry, Mara. This is my Mr. Rochester. ;) But at least we don’t have to fight!

Doo Wah Diddy

This song is in my head, so you all have to listen to it and get it in your heads as well. :P

And yeah, I’m watching THAT version of Jane Eyre and yet THIS song is in my head. That’s how I roll.
